Vildana, jeune Bosnienne, partage son témoignage lors de la cérémonie de la paix organisée devant Hassan Pascha Mosque, le dernier soir de la session à La Canée.

Texte non-traduit.

« For us, peace is more than just silence without gunfire. Peace means feeling safe when we go to sleep, and having hope when we wake up. It means knowing we are protected, that we can love, learn, work, and dream without fear.

Peace is when children grow up with games, not sirens. When we respect each other, listen to one another, and don’t see people as divided.

Today, when we see the suffering in Gaza and remember the genocides in history, we understand even more how precious peace is.

Peace is quiet, but strong. It is something everyone deserves — even if not everyone has it.

Our 10-day journey through the Mediterranean, in the middle of the sea, brought together people of different cultures, nations, religions, and languages. It was a beautiful example of how young people can and should live together.

On a small space like a boat, the 35 of us shared a completely normal life-full of connection, play, and happiness. We became like a family, getting to know each other so well that sometimes, even when we couldn’t find the words in another language, we still understood each other.

We cooked for one another, helped each other, made tea for those who were sick.

I want the whole world to see and hear this-how beautiful it is to live in peace, to embrace and love our differences. «
